For those of you with bookings on any of our courses or events in 2020, please see this update on our current situation:
Trail Running Scotland COVID-19 planning.
15 March 2020
Like I’m sure you are, we are watching the events unfold with disbelief and wondering how it will affect our lives.
Firstly I hope that you and all your friends and family are safe and well. With the rapidly changing situation I am increasingly focusing on this as the priority, over the inconvenience of travel restrictions and disappointments.
This is an unprecedented and evolving situation, so there is still a lot of uncertainty around what will happen in the next few weeks and months however we need to consider how it will affect our planned events.
As of today, this is our position related to our upcoming courses:
Navigation for runners
Trail Running Skills
Mountain Marathon Preparation
Introduction to Skyrunning
Mountain running skills
With current advice there is no reason that our events cannot take place. There are no restrictions on travel within Scotland and small group activities of this nature are low risk.
- If international travel restrictions prevent you from traveling to Scotland you would need to seek advice from your travel insurance company.
Obviously for the safety of the rest of the group, if you have any reason to believe that you may have come into contact with COVID-19 due to personal travel, or connections with friends, family or through your workplace, we would ask that you follow WHO advice and withdraw yourself from the event. In this instance our standard cancellation or transfer policy would apply: http://www.trailrunningscotland.com/about-trail-running-scotland/cancellation-policy
Naturally the situation in Scotland may well change in the coming weeks and months. We would of course follow all government advice if we are legally required to cancel the event.
- In this instance we would be in a very difficult position as a small business and we would appreciate your understanding and help in sharing the burden of the situation.
- We would not be able to offer any refunds for your course fees.
- As a gesture of goodwill we would make available a discount to be used on future bookings. Amount to be confirmed if the situation arrises.
I hope all this is clear and seems reasonable. I appreciate your understanding and would happily discuss our plans with you as they evolve.
